"People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus
saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom
of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child
will never enter it.' And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them."
—Mark 10:13-16
Taking our lead from Christ, we at the
California State Youth Conference believe in the value
of young people and what each bring to the Kingdom of God.
We see them as ambassadors, as future leaders
and servants in His Church. So, dedicate ourselves
to their best interest as young Christians. Our mission is to
holistically support and equip them for life in Christ.
We do this by providing the following:
IN-DEPTH STUDY
Through Bible classes and workshops, we provide opportunities for the faith development of young people by strengthening their relationship
with God's Word. An expansive, multi-level curriculum is created annually and disseminated to the scores of participating congregations and taught throughout the year.
FELLOWSHIP
Throughout the year, we hold various workshops across the state. The aim is to build bonds among young Christians. By providing healthy and positive environments for young people to have fun, we teach them first-hand about community, shared sacrifice, service.
TRAINING & EXPOSURE
Public speaking, teaching, singing, planning and organizing, leadership and service — we endeavor to give young people experience. Whether they have a desire to get better or just want to try out different things, we provide opportunities for them to strengthen and diversify their talents. The hope is they use these skills at their home congregation and in their daily Christian walk.
